College Film
After viewing this film, it made me really start thinking about how true it is and how America is really like this. One student said that the person next to her pays for the class but never shows up. It made me realize how true that is. I mean how many times have you went to class and only see some of the students the first couple days of class, then not again until midterms and/or final exams. So many people take for granted the benefits of education that we have here in American. And so many people just throw their money away without thinking or caring about it. Another student mentioned that the laptop that he has, costs more than what some people make in other countries in an entire year. Think about how much money that it? A thousand dollars about. That's many peoples incomes in very poor countries. What we buy for a daily use, people in those countries could only dream of buying, but will never afford. We don't really appreciate the things we have and think about how other people in other countries will never be able to have most of the things we have.

Film Thoughts
After watching the film "Binta and the Great Idea", it was weird seeing how bad off some children are and how mistreated they might be even by their fathers. Based on the school system that the society has, determines how fortunate and how well rounded people turn out to be. With a good school, the children turn out smarter and more determined to make more of themselves in the future. The film showed how much times have changed with girls working and going to school. Soda's father wouldn't let her go to school and made her work. Now-a-days, a girl would be frowned upon if she worked full time instead of going to school. It makes me realize how fortunate we are to have such good school systems available to everybody.

Who Am I?
I am Heather Kolanda. I'm a nice motivated person. I'm a CNA student at Moraine Valley College. I am a nurse in progress. I am also a graduate from Shepard High School and came to moraine to get my education to become a nurse. I have a brother but am the oldest and a resident of Oak Lawn for a year and 4 months. I am a smart girl when I apply myself and am excited for college this year. I took this class because this is a class that I need. I am very close with my family and come from a big one. Why...? I want to be a student here and a nurse because I want to help people. I like being around people and the best thing to do for them is become a nurse because there are so many people out there who don't have any help and I am going to be the person to make them feel better and happy again. Schooling has taught me to be motivated and to work hard for what I want because life is hard and you need to work hard to stand out and get what you want. Nothing comes easy.
